Rising unemployment remains one of the greatest challenges facing the economy and society today. The unemployment rate in Nigeria has more than tripled in the las five years with about 40% of Nigerians living in the below poverty line.

As a way of reducing unemployment achieving the sustainable development Goal 8- Decent Work and Economic Growth, employment opportunities are offered to qualified local community contractors on a regular basis. During drilling campaigns, over a hundred people are selected from communities and offered employment with community leadership. This has improved the wellbeing and standard of living of these stakeholders tremendously with volume of transactions exceeding half a billion naira in the past five years.  Asharami Energy’ community relations policies encourages hiring locals to boost capacity building and socio-economic development.
